A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away....

The swimmers have waited 3 years for this meet! It's a chance for them to enjoy the fun of an evening meet and swim in our home pool alongside friends and classmates! Please read this email in it’s entirety, many of you have never experienced a Blue vs Red Star Wars meet and for those who have, well it’s been a long three years …

MEET LOCATION:Bella Mar Pool

PARKING: will be limited and we need everyone to adhere to the parking regulations. Please bike, walk, or carpool if you can

• Parking for families will be along Bella Mar Trail and Calistoga Way
• The Bella Mar parking lot and area along Bella Mar Trail directly in front of the pool is RESERVED parking for our generous sponsors, coaches, board members and volunteers with equipment needs.
• There will be a drop off zone along Calistoga Way

Please make sure to respect our Parking volunteers, observe posted signs, leave cones in place and do not park in front of houses.

IMPORTANT MEET INFORMATION:

• Stars from both RED and BLUE will be under adjacent age group tents.
• There are NO medley relays for this meet and the free relays will be moved to the beginning of the meet
• Shift change will occur after Event 31
• Team scores will not be posted for this meet, however event results will be posted
• Events 46 and 47 (6 & Under Breaststroke) will occur after event 53 to allow for a break for any 5/6 athlete swimming both Breast and Fly
• Our hardworking Social crew will be handing out popsicles for our swimmers
• Break out your favorite Star Wars outfit, shirt, headgear
• Age group tents are reserved for swimmers and Tent Parents ONLY - Please do not sit in the swimmer tents unless you are a Tent Parent
• Ready Bench and area behind the starting blocks are for swimmers ONLY
• Baby Pool and Splash Pool are off-limits during the meet

SPORTSMANSHIP: Let's show good sportsmanship - we are swimming against our friends, neighbors and classmates. Encourage kids to let their swimming do the talking.

MEET ABSENCES: For anything the day of the meet please text me (571-599-1330) as soon a possible so we can adjust our meet entries

HEAT SHEETS/MEET ENTRIES: Heat Sheets and Meet Entries will be posted under the Calendar section of the Red Team website soon. Please check the meet entries file that is posted along with the Heat Sheets. This will tell you what events (including heat and lane) your swimmer is in. Relays are also listed on here as well. However please know that relays are always subject to change.

SWIMTOPIA APP: You can download the SwimTopia Mobile App on the App Store or Google Play

We also have the ability to communicate through push notifications -- which is helpful for when we need to get information out quickly.

To receive push alerts on your phone:

1. Log in with your SwimTopia login
2. Be sure to check your app’s notification settings -- ensure that it’s set to pop up on your screen (Android users: set the Importance to “Urgent”)

* We highly recommend that you upgrade to the Pro version of the app to get estimated start times for events that will also update as the meet progresses.

*Please ensure you have the app opened and you are signed in on meet day.

CONCESSIONS: Concessions crew will keep everyone fed with their selection of hamburgers, pizza and a wide selection of candy. Cash or Venmo will be accepted.  

APPAREL: Please text Aika (410-615-0018) if you need a RED Stars cap.

CHECK-IN TIMES:

• 5:00AM - Tent Set-up Volunteers
• 3:10PM - Tent Parent Check-In
• 3:25PM - Swimmer (check your swimmer in with the tent parents at their age group tent)
• 3:25PM - Volunteer - both first and 2nd shift (check your swimmer in first and then check-in with our Volunteer Coordinators at the white check-in table) Please remember to wear your name tag
• 4:30PM - Ready Bench volunteers report to the Ready Bench
• 4:40PM - Stroke/Exchange Judge and Timer Meetings (BOTH 1st and 2nd shift) - Timers meet at Lane 1 Starting Block, Exchange/Stroke Judges meet at the far end of lane 1
• 4:50PM - 1st shift volunteers, timers and judges report to positions
• 5:00PM - Start of the Meet
• EVENT 31 - Break

• EVENT 32 - 2nd shift volunteers report to positions
• END OF MEET - Tent Tear Down crew report to tents inside the pool area

LEAVING THE SWIM MEET:

• Please help us by leaving the Bella Mar pool in the same or better shape than we found it. Pick up any trash you see as well straighten tables and tuck in chairs.
• It will be dark when you go to check your swimmer out of their tent. Please make sure you check out your swimmer with a tent parent.
• Please be respectful of the neighbors and keep the noise level down when exiting the pool and driving away
