Stars Red vs. Balcones Sharks
Hi Stars RED parents!
Our first meet is this Saturday, May 31 vs. Balcones Sharks. This e-mail is lengthy, but it contains lots of important reminders and useful information. Reading this e-mail thoroughly and preparing properly will make the meet run so much more smoothly, for both the Stars swim team and your family.
For injury, illness or any other situation that occurs which will prevent your child from attending the meet, please e-mail ([email protected]) or text (512-605-7279) me as soon as you know so we can adjust our meet entries.
Make sure you wear your volunteer nametag and lanyard to the meet. They are available for new families in the family folders. If you haven't picked yours up yet, you can get it at the meet when you check in with the Volunteer Coordinators. Returning families should use their nametag and lanyard from last season.
INFORMATION TO REVIEW PRIOR TO THE MEET
1. What to take and do at a swim meet: https://swimtopia.s3.amazonaws
This is a fantastic checklist that will be helpful to the new families as well as veteran parents.
2. Step-by-step procedures for volunteer jobs: https://steinerstars.swimtopia
This is a great way for you to become familiar with your volunteer assignment and what will be expected of you.
These documents, as well as a bunch of other useful information, are found in the Stars Parent Handbook: https://steinerstars.swimtopia

PARKING
Parking is extremely limited within the Bella Mar neighborhood. A map is available on this site of approved parking within Bella Mar, and you can see there’s not much available. Biking, walking and carpooling are all great ideas! The Bella Mar parking lot is reserved for the visiting team. Our families will arrive at the meet before Balcones, and we’re asking that Stars families park on the street further away from the pool and allow the visiting team to park closer. Let’s give our guests a great impression by making the parking near the pool available to them.
HEAT SHEETS
You can find all of the heat sheets on Swimtopia under the Quick Links section ‘Meet Heat Sheets and Results’. Please note: Relays are subject to change and reorganization until scratches are determined right before the meet starts.
MEET MOBILE
We are planning on having our meet available on Meet Mobile. Meet Mobile is a free app that allows you to get event results as soon as they are released by our Computers volunteers. To get the app, go to your app store and search for Meet Mobile App and download it. Then when you arrive at the meet, enter “Steiner” in Meet Mobile’s search bar. You should see the Stars Red vs. Balcones Sharks meet. Be sure to select the correct Stars team because Stars Blue may be listed too.
Remember, the results that appear on Meet Mobile are preliminary and are for reference only until the official results are posted a few hours after the end of the meet. Please let me know if you have any questions!
GOOOOOOO STARS!!!
Thanks,
Brandy Harrison– Stars Red Team Coordinator
