Stars Red vs. Round Rock Dolphins
Hi Stars RED parents!
Our first away meet is this Saturday, June 7 vs. Round Rock Dolphins. This is lengthy, but it contains lots of important reminders and useful information. Reading this thoroughly and preparing properly will make the meet run so much more smoothly, for both the Stars swim team and your family.
For injury, illness or any other situation that occurs which will prevent your child from attending the meet, please e-mail ([email protected]),or text (847-778-1676) me as soon as you know so we can adjust our meet entries.
Make sure you wear your volunteer nametag and lanyard to the meet. They are available for new families in the family folders. If you haven't picked yours up yet, you can get it at the meet when you check in with the Volunteer Coordinators. Returning families should use their nametag and lanyard from last season.
INFORMATION TO REVIEW PRIOR TO THE MEET
1. What to take and do at a swim meet: https://swimtopia.s3.amazonaws
This is a fantastic checklist that will be helpful to the new families as well as veteran parents.
2. Step-by-step procedures for volunteer jobs: https://steinerstars.swimtopia
This is a great way for you to become familiar with your volunteer assignment and what will be expected of you.
These documents, as well as a bunch of other useful information, are found in the Stars Parent Handbook: https://steinerstars.swimtopia

WHEN YOU ARRIVE/BEFORE THE MEET STARTS:
- Parking. It fills up quickly! Plan extra time for finding parking and walking to the pool. Note: PLEASE exercise caution as it will be dark when we arrive, and little ones tend to not be visible among the cars.
- Check in your swimmer and yourself (if you are volunteering) by 5:55 am. All volunteers should wear their name tags and lanyards. They are available for new families in the family folders. If you haven't picked yours up yet, you can get it at the meet when you check in with the Volunteer Coordinators. Returning families should use their nametag and lanyard from last season.
- Tent parents and swimmers be on time. We have a tight timeline and it is important to be on time for this large meet. If we are not good at this we will be forced to move the swimmer check-in to an earlier time for future meets.
- Warm Ups. Our team's warm ups are scheduled to start at 6:20. This is why swimmer check-in at 6:55 is important: so that all swimmers will be body-marked and ready to warm up at 6:20. There is a warm-up / cool down pool available. This is only to be used for warming up or cooling down. If you are not doing this you will be asked to exit the pool.
- Volunteer Assignment Meetings. Please listen to the announcer for pre-meet meetings that will take place for certain volunteers. All ‘on deck’ positions will have a pre-meet meeting, and all first- and second-half judges, timers and ready bench will need to attend their meeting. 1st shift volunteers do not leave your position until a volunteer replacement relieves you
- Extra : The sand volleyball pit is off limits. The kiddie pool is off limits as well. Please stay out.
- Meet will be broadcast on 100.1 KSWIM.
- Swim caps along with goggles will be for sale with our apparel team. Please bring CC or check!
MEET MOBILE
We are planning on having our meet available on Meet Mobile. Meet Mobile is a free app that allows you to get event results as soon as they are released by our Computers volunteers. To get the app, go to your app store and search for Meet Mobile App and download it. Then when you arrive at the meet, enter “Steiner” in Meet Mobile’s search bar. You should see the Stars Red vs. Round Rock Dolphins meet. Be sure to select the correct Stars team because Stars Blue may be listed too.
Remember, the results that appear on Meet Mobile are preliminary and are for reference only until the official results are posted a few hours after the end of the meet. Please let me know if you have any questions!
