Anderson Mill Meet Info - **PLEASE READ**
Parents,
We are looking forward to our first home meet this weekend against the Anderson Mill Barracudas. Anderson Mill is a tough opponent so get a good night's rest and come ready to swim.
MEET LOCATION: Bella Mar Pool
PARKING: Please see the attached Parking Map
- Parking will be limited and we need everyone to adhere to the parking regulations.
- Parking for Stars families will be along Bella Mar Trail as indicated by the green lines on the map.
- The Bella Mar parking lot, parking along Calistoga Way and immediate parking along Bella Mar Trail will be reserved for our visiting team
- There will be a drop off zone along Calistoga Way
- As a safety precaution we will limit any traffic past the Calistoga Way & Bella Mar intersection.
Please make sure to respect our Parking volunteers, observe posted signs, leave cones in place and do not park in front of houses or fire hydrants.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
- NO chairs set-up between the swimmer tents and the wall surrounding the pool deck. We need this to be a walk through area for swimmers
- Age group tents are reserved for swimmers and Tent Parents ONLY - Please do not sit in the tent unless you are an assigned Tent Parent for that meet. We also kindly ask that spouses of Tent Parents not sit in the age group tents as well. We have a hard working team of volunteers that transport and set-up these tents every week. Space is limited and they are strictly for our swimmers and the volunteering Tent Parents.
- Ready Bench and area behind the starting blocks are for swimmers and coaches ONLY. There are NO cameras or cell phones allowed behind the blocks per USA Swimming guidelines.
- In the interest of safety athletes must stay in their age-group tent when not swimming
- Tent parents will be writing on the swimmers events on their arms so please do not apply sunscreen until AFTER this has been done. If you want to write on your swimmers arm before you check in see the attached document on how to do so.
- Male swimmers must wear jammers or swim briefs (NO board shorts are allowed)
- Female swimmers must wear a competition suit (NO rash guards or two pieces allowed)
- Baby Pool and Play Pool are off-limits during the meet to swimmers & their families (it will be open to non-swimmer families)
- Children are to remain in their age group swimmer tent .. no playing on the playground or wandering around
- Please wear your badge – they are in your family folder
- Please wear your RED STARS apparel or something red to show your team spirit
MEET ABSENCES:
- Report any full or partial meet absences by utilizing the Report a Meet Absence button on the upper right hand corner of the Red Team website
- For anything the day of the meet please text me (571-599-1330) as soon a possible so we can adjust our meet entries
HEAT SHEETS/MEET ENTRIES:
- The Heat Sheets and Meet Entries are posted under the Calendar section of the Red Team website (and attached to this email). The meet entries file will tell you what events (including heat and lane) your swimmer is in. Relays are also listed on here as well- however please know that relays are always subject to change.
SWIMTOPIA APP:
- You can download theSwimTopia Mobile App on theApp Store orGoogle Play
- We also have the ability to communicate through push notifications -- which is helpful for when we need to get information out quickly..
- To receive push alerts on your phone:
- Log in with your SwimTopia login
- Be sure to check your app’s notification settings -- ensure that it’s set to pop up on your screen (Android users: set the Importance to “Urgent”)
- We highly recommend that you upgrade to the Pro version of the app to get estimated start times for events that will also update as the meet progresses
- Please ensure you have the app opened and you are signed in on meet day.
CONCESSIONS:
- Our hard working Concessions crew will keep everyone fed with a selection of breakfast tacos, doughnuts, coffee, hamburgers, hotdogs, pizza, Chick-Fil-A © and a wide selection of candy. New this year we will have Kale Me Crazy there selling smoothies, juices, bagel/egg sandwiches and pita and hummus. Cash and Venmo will be accepted (NO CREDIT CARDS).
APPAREL:

HOT HEATS:
- “Hot Heats” will be selected at random and announced prior to the beginning of the race. Winners of that heat will, in addition to a heat ribbon, receive a coupon for a special treat from the Concessions stand.

ARRIVE ON TIME - LATE SWIMMER WILL BE SCRATCHED FROM RELAYS
- 4:45AM - Parking volunteers arrival
- 4:55AM - Meet Set-Up volunteers arrival
- 5:30AM - Audio Equipment Set-Up volunteers arrival
- 5:55AM - Tent Parents Check-In and report to tents
- 6:10AM - Swimmer Check-In (check your swimmer in with the tent parents at their age group tent) -
- 6:10AM - Volunteer Check-In both 1st and 2nd shift (check your swimmer in first and then check-in with our Volunteer Coordinators at the white check-in table)
- 6:20AM - Swimmer Warm-Up
- 7:10AM - Stroke/Exchange Judge and Timer Meetings (BOTH 1st and 2nd shift) - Timers meet at Lane 1 Starting Block, Exchange/Stroke Judges meet at the far end of lane 1
- 7:10AM - Ready Bench volunteers report to the Ready Bench
- 7:20AM - 1st shift volunteers, timers and judges report to positions
- 7:25AM - NATIONAL ANTHEM
- 7:30AM - Start of the Meet
- EVENT 45 - Break

SWIM MEET 101:
- What to take and do at a Swim Meet (please read if you are a new family or even a returning family as you may have forgotten some things)

LEAVING THE SWIM MEET:
- You must physically check-out your swimmer with a tent parent by initialing or signing next to your swimmers name
- If you are leaving the meet before the free relays please double check with the tent parents to ensure your swimmer is not swimming in a relay. Even if your swimmer wasn't initially scheduled to swim in a relay they may have been added during the meet. Also check to see if they are swimming up in the next age group.
- Please help us by leaving the Bella Mar pool in the same or better shape than we found it. Pick up any trash you see as well as straighten tables and tuck in chairs.
- Tell your swimmer how much you enjoyed watching them swim - they have worked hard!
It’s going to be a hot one on Saturday so please remember to hydrate yourself and your swimmer. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask me.
