Divisionals Meet Information **PLEASE READ**
Steiner Stars Red Team,
I can’t believe this is our last meet of the season and it is a BIG ONE! This is the Division 1 Championship meet against Anderson Mill Barracudas and Brushy Creek Marlins. Let's finish the season strong with lots of fun, fast swims, and hopefully the Division 1 trophy!
MEET LOCATION: Bella Mar Pool
PARKING/ SHUTTLE
With three teams at the meet, we are asking all Red Team families to utilize the shuttle. This will allow us to save parking along Bella Mar Trail for our visiting teams.
- The shuttle will run from River Ridge Elementary School to the drop off on Calistoga Way from 5:15am - 3:00pm
- The Bella Mar parking lot, parking along Calistoga Way and immediate parking along Bella Mar Trail will be reserved for our visiting teams
- The Bella Mar parking lot will be reserved parking only
- As a safety precaution we will limit any traffic past the Calistoga Way & Bella Mar intersection.
- Please reference the attached Shuttle and Parking Map
Please make sure to respect our Parking volunteers, observe posted signs, leave cones in place and do not park in front of houses or fire hydrants.
CHECK-IN TIMES
- 4:35AM - Parking Volunteers report to Bella Mar
- 4:45AM - Tent & Meet Set-up Volunteers report to Bella Mar
- 5:45AM - Tent Parents ARRIVAL
- 6:00AM - Swimmer Check-In (check your swimmer in with the tent parents at their age group tent)
- 6:00AM - Volunteer Check-In - all shifts (check your swimmer in first and then check-in with our Volunteer Coordinators at the white check-in table) - Please wear your nametag
- 6:20AM - Steiner Stars Warm-Up
- 7:10AM - Stroke/Exchange Judge and Timer Meetings (ALL SHIFTS) - Timers meet at Lane 1 starting block, Exchange/Stroke Judges meet far end of Lane 1
- 7:10AM - Ready Bench volunteers report to the Ready Bench
- 7:15AM - Event 1 Report to Ready Bench (1st, 2nd, & 3rd Calls to Ready Bench for Events 2-3)
- 7:20AM - 1st shift volunteers, Timers and Exchange/ Stroke Judges report to positions
- 7:25AM - Event 1 at Blocks/ National Anthem
- 7:30AM - Start of the Meet
- EVENT 31 - Break (Team Cheer) - 2nd shift volunteers report to positions - 1st shift volunteers remain at positions until relieved
- EVENT 57 - Break (Parent/Coach Relay) - 3rd shift volunteers report to positions - 2nd shift volunteers remain at positions until relieved
- EVENT 78 - Exchange Judges report to positions
- EVENT 81 - Tent Tear Down crew report to 5/6 Tents
- EVENT 87 - END OF MEET: Awards Ceremony in the Pavilion
SCORING (points are awarded for the following)
- Individual and Relay events: 1st place - 9 points, 2nd place - 7 points, 3rd place - 6 points, 4th place - 5 points, 5th place - 4 points, 6th place - 3 points, 7th place - 2 points, 8th place - 1 point
RIBBONS/AWARDS
- Individual Events - Medals are given for 1st - 3rd place and ribbons for 4th - 12th place.
- Relay Events - Medals are given for 1st - 3rd place and ribbons for 4th - 8th
- Heat Ribbons will still be awarded for the winner of each heat
- Ribbons and Medals from Divisionals can be picked up from Family Folders at the Awards Banquet on Monday, 7/10. If your family will not be attending the awards banquet stay tuned for instructions on where to pick up any remaining ribbons, etc post-season
HIGH POINT AWARDS
- Trophies will be awarded to the first, second and third place high point swimmers in each age group and gender between the three teams. These awards are only based on points earned at Divisionals for their 3 individual events. These awards will be presented immediately following the meet in the pavilion
- A team trophy will be awarded to the team with the highest number of combined points for relay and individual events. This will be presented at the Divisional Awards Ceremony immediately following the end of the meet in the pavilion
- The Awards Ceremony will take place in the Pavilion
HOT HEATS
- “Hot Heats” will be selected at random and announced prior to the beginning of the race. Winners of that heat will, in addition to a heat ribbon, receive a “HOT” goodie bag
OTHER
- Chairs WILL NOT be allowed to be set-up between the swimmer tents and the wall surrounding the pool deck. We need this to be a walk through area for swimmers
- Age group tents are reserved for swimmers and Tent Parents ONLY - Please do not sit in the tent unless you are an assigned Tent Parent for that meet. We also kindly ask that spouses of Tent Parents not sit in the age group tents as well.
- Ready Bench and area behind the starting blocks are for swimmers and coaches ONLY. There are NO cameras or cell phones allowed behind the blocks per USA Swimming guidelines.
- In the interest of safety athletes must stay in their age-group tent when not swimming - no playing on the playground or wandering around
- Tent parents will be writing on the swimmers events on their arms so please do not apply sunscreen until AFTER this has been done.
- Baby Pool and Play Pool are off-limits during the meet to swimmers & their families (it will be open to non-swimmer families)
- Please wear your RED STARS apparel or something red to show your team spirit
- The Divisional Meet is divided into 3 shifts with 2nd shift occurring after event 31 and 3rd shift occurring after event 57
- Events 46/47 (6 & under Breast) will get moved to after event 53
- Flyover starts for 50’s and 100’s
MEET ABSENCES
- For any absences the day of the meet please text Candice Palmer, Team Coordinator (571-599-1330) as soon a possible
HEAT SHEETS/MEET ENTRIES
- The Heat Sheets and Meet Entries will be posted under the Calendar section of the Red Team website soon (relays are listed however please know that relays are always subject to change)
CONCESSIONS
- Our hard working Concessions crew will keep everyone fed with a selection of breakfast tacos, doughnuts, coffee, water, soda, hamburgers, hotdogs, pizza, Chick-Fil-A © and a wide selection of candy. New this year we will have Kale Me Crazy there selling smoothies, juices, bagel/egg sandwiches and pita and hummus. Cash and Venmo will be accepted (NO CREDIT CARDS).

SPORTSMANSHIP/RESPECTFUL BEHAVIOR
- Please remind your swimmers that in order to be a member of the Steiner Stars swimmers are to display appropriate behavior individually and as a team, in order to maintain the health, safety and a quality program for all participants
- Verbal abuse, physical aggression, disrespect or other inappropriate behavior towards another swimmer will not be tolerated
- Horseplay and other forms of rough physical behavior are not permitted
LEAVING THE SWIM MEET
- You must physically check-out your swimmer with a tent parent by initialing or signing next to your swimmers name
- If you are leaving the meet before the free relays please double check with the tent parents to ensure your swimmer is not swimming in a relay. Even if your swimmer wasn't initially scheduled to swim in a relay they may have been added during the meet. Also check to see if they are swimming up in the next age group
- Please help us by leaving the Bella Mar pool in the same or better shape than we found it. Pick up any trash you see as well as straighten tables and tuck in chairs
- Tell your swimmer how much you enjoyed watching them swim this season!!
QUALIFYING FOR INVITATIONALS AT DIVISIONALS
- Invitationals are the next day, Sunday, July 9 at Round Rock Aquatic Center. Swimmers can still qualify for Invitationals at the Divisionals meet!
- If your child qualifies for Invitationals for the first time this season at Divisionals, I will come find you and ask if your child will be attending Invitationals and confirm desired events. Please do not leave the meet without speaking to me.
- If your child is already attending Invitationals and qualifies for a new event at Divisionals:
- We will add the new event to your child's other Invitationals event(s).
- If the new qualifying event at Divisionals gives your child more than three qualifying events, please come find me if your child wants to remove a previous selection and replace it with the new event.
