Good evening Stars families! 

What a meet we had at Forest North Stingrays! Congratulations to all the swimmers!! Thank you to everyone who volunteered! Seeing all the smiles on swimmers’ faces and cheering for fellow teammates is what our team is all about! I feel like we’re all getting the hang of the new season, but want to share some important information and reminders below. 

Post Meet Documents: The following documents are attached to this email and can also be found in the calendar section (under past events) on the website:

• Meet Results - Official results from the meet
• Invitational Qualifiers - This is a list of individuals who have qualified to attend the Invitational on June 30. Invitational Qualifying times can be found on the right hand side of the website as well as at the top of each event on the Heat Sheets. We now have 53 qualifiers in so far and will have many more as the season progresses! CONGRATULATIONS!

PLEASE READ:

VOLUNTEERS—A few reminders regarding volunteer positions…

• If you have a 5/6 swimmer, you MAY NOT work 2nd shift. ALL 5/6 swimmers MUST be checked out at the last 5/6 event, which is earlier than full meet end time. 
• If you work 2nd or 3rd shift, you MUST; 1) check-in at regular check-in time, 2) attend the required role meetings, 3) wait to finish your shift until you are relieved by your next shift volunteer. 
  • IF YOU DO NOT CHECK-IN AT CHECK-IN TIME, you will be replaced and in turn lose your points.
• If your swimmer scratches for the meet, please also let me know if you are volunteering so we can find a replacement for that position. 
• ALL PARENTS MUST CHECK your swimmer out after their FINAL SWIM! We had several families leave with their swimmer and we had to start making phone calls. WE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR EVERY SWIMMER. DO NOT REMOVE YOUR SWIMMER FROM THE TENT WITHOUT FINDING THE HEAD TENT PARENT. 
• TENT PARENTS: Next meet, we WILL have a head tent parent meeting. Make sure you check the pre-meet information for time on Friday. General reminders to ALL tent parents: 
  • You are NOT allowed to exit the tent for any reason (obviously running to the bathroom and getting food is okay, but you need to make sure swimmers are not needing to line up for ready bench and you have another tent parent helping)
  • Ensure ALL swimmers remain in tent
  • NO personal phone calls should be taken at length—believe it or not, we are having big issues with this! Your job is to take care of the kids in the tent so our volunteers can work their shifts and know that their kids are taken care of. Scrolling on your phone the entire shift and chatting excessively with other parents while not paying attention to swimmers is not acceptable—We will be removing Head and Tent parents from these roles if you are in violation of these rules. 

Meet Photos

• We have a hard-working volunteer each meet that takes photos of swimmers, coaches, parents, volunteers, etc. You can access the photos by clicking on the "Meet Photos" button on the right hand side of the website, password “stars”.

Ribbons

• Family folders will be out all week, so be sure to check them.

General Reminders:

• PLEASE arrive on time to the swim meets – each week I send an email with check-in time for volunteers and swimmers. We plan these meets down to the minute so it is important to be ON TIME. If your swimmer is not signed into the tent by check-in, they WILL be scratched from relays.
• LOST + FOUND—The bin is overflowing! Please check the lost & found bin for any items your child may have lost. It is placed out in the pavilion at every practice.
